It’s almost here! Mountains to Sea collection releases JUNE 29 (for email VIPs, you get access one day early on June 28)! If you want to sign up, there’s a form on my homepage to join the fun! I do recommend it if you want first dibs on paintings.
I’m so excited to introduce this new body of work as an ode to the landscapes that shape us and our time with our people and with ourselves.
Growing up in Columbia, SC, my family and I would always take a trip to the beach in the spring with the cousins and a trip to the mountains (Blowing Rock, NC) in the fall. Looking back, I love that we had these consistent travel rhythms and times to spend with family. At the beach we were always building droopy castles and digging giant holes and eating sandwiches on the hammock. We would ‘fish” from the dock and spend hours on the back porch in the golden light watching the marsh tide leave and return again.
The mountains were full of adventure and hiking and racing plastic boats in the creek at Bass Lake, carefree and barefoot in the cold stream. We would go horse back riding and bike riding and play tennis and have tea parties on the sunporch with Aunt Shay. The mountains have always been an active kind of rest where you get the happy kind of tired from playing so hard with your favorite people.
The quiet
adventure
of the hills
meets
the lazy days
of the coast.
Crisp cool air
meets
salty mist.
Lush trees
meet expanses of
marsh grass.
